I HAVE RECENTLY RETURNED FROM CHINA WHERE I ATTENDED THE 14th INTERNATIONAL FASHION SHOW AND EXHIBITION IN NINGBO.
I had been asked back, after speaking at a Forum held there the previous year, to help build an understanding and appreciation of the Savile Row style of bespoke tailoring in this rapidly expanding area of the world. I spent four days measuring, cutting and fitting, talking and attending meetings and dinners. I felt that there was real interest in bespoke and consider it to have been an interesting and worthwhile trip.

Born in 1949 and christened John Handel Lawson Cutler, I am the fourth generation of my family to take up the tailor's shears. I joined the family business straight from school at 16 years of age. Even before then I had always shown a very keen interest in bespoke tailoring and shirt making.
